The unofficial start of the fall season and new school year for many takes place next week. But prior to that event, we pause to acknowledge all who have labored and will labor for this great nation. Labor Day is set aside each year to recognize the importance of those who contribute to our nation by putting forth effort and energy in their chosen work.
Next Monday, when you rise from your sleep and take on a new day, take a moment to look around you. Just about everything you can see and touch is the direct result of someone’s labor. Whether it be the house you live in, the car you drive, or even the cup of coffee you sip. Someone put forth their labor to provide for these items to be in your life.
Take a moment to be thankful for those who labor so that each of us can enjoy the many beneficial surrounding elements. May we never take them for granted.
Honest labor is a worthy endeavor and should be a desire for everyone to participate.
