Emotional Intelligence beats Artificial Intelligence

The world is a buzz with discussion about artificial intelligence.  What will it do? What it won’t do? How it will be used for this, that, and the next thing.  How will it affect various jobs in the marketplace? Is it evil, or will it morph into something that mankind can’t control? Have we crossed the line of science fiction into the reality of the future?  Lots and lots of questions.  Lots and lots of guesses on answers. Regardless of the hype or confusion artificial intelligence is creating in the marketplace, people will still interact with other people. That very element of person-to-person relationships will never be replaced by technology. This is why you must invest in your knowledge, understanding, appreciation, and motivation to improve your emotional intelligence.

The past few decades have witnessed a rise in the language and understanding of emotional intelligence.  Leaders have seen how it directly affects the best outcomes for their organizations.  For too many years, the entire area seemed soft and fluffy.  No hard tangibility to cause bottom-line performance to be constructively improved. Everything was driven solely by hard short-term metrics.  This still exists today, and those metrics are both valuable and give insights that leaders must pay attention to.  In addition to those numbers, leaders have found that, to significantly impact hard metrics, they must invest in, develop, and embed their entire team’s emotional intelligence within their culture.

Emotional intelligence is no longer merely a nice thing the human resources department would like to see in individuals’ performance reviews.  It is also not something that only large corporations can afford to implement.  It is critical to small businesses as it is to large enterprises.  In some cases, it may be even more critical in tightly held and family businesses, where day-to-day dynamics are more immediate and intense.

One common definition of emotional intelligence (EI or EQ) is the ability to recognize, understand, manage, and use your own emotions, as well as to perceive and influence the emotions of others. It involves using this awareness to guide thinking, behavior, and interpersonal relationships effectively.

By definition, the emphasis on guiding behaviors, the way we think, and the way we interact with others is critical to the future of all businesses in the marketplace.  AI agents will definitely be part of the future, but they may never possess human emotions.  AI might have massive access to all levels of information and insights, but can’t sense when someone needs a friendly colleague to simply talk to, share an experience, or even cry on their shoulder.

The mental health crisis of our times is not going to be solved with AI, but with each and every one of us making a choice of not just knowing about EI/EQ but having it positively affect our thinking, behaviors, and interactions, we will bring everyone to a higher level of interpersonal relationships.

There is a lot of information and insights available online and through AI agents.  It can help you gain some baseline understanding of EI/EQ, but nothing brings this to light like completing a questionnaire and having a one-on-one conversation with a certified and application-knowledgeable fellow human being.  It is for this reason that this week, JK Associates will make available to you at no cost the ability to complete one of our questionnaires, receive a personalized EI/EQ report, and have the opportunity to have a one-on-one interaction with a Promise Guide to bring the insights of your EI/EQ to life.

To participate in this offer, simply send an email to Partners@JKLAssociates.com and in the subject line indicate you are interested in gaining insights into your Emotional Intelligence.   Make sure your email is available for a Promise Guide to forward to you the opportunity to complete the questionnaire and review your report with you accordingly.
